Executive Director
The Westport River Watershed Alliance (WRWA) is seeking a new Executive Director to lead its mission of protecting and preserving the Westport River Watershed. Established in 1976, WRWA is a prominent environmental nonprofit with over 1,500 members, dedicated to clean water, healthy ecosystems, and community stewardship. The Executive Director will oversee a staff of seven, manage an annual operating budget nearing $800,000, and work closely with a 15-member Board of Directors. Key responsibilities include advancing science-based advocacy, expanding educational programs that engage over 2,000 students annually, and fostering community partnerships. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of senior leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit management, and a strong commitment to environmental conservation. Summer Environmental Educators
We are seeking two dedicated, energetic, and fun individuals with a passion for teaching and natural sciences to serve as Environmental Educators for the summer of 2026. In this role, you will have the opportunity to observe and assist in field trips for public schools, gain experience designing lesson plans and educational materials, and beginning on 6/22 you will lead outdoor programs for 5-12 year-olds during the summer watershed discovery program. Activities include marine animal collection, hiking, underwater digital photography, arts & crafts, playing games, citizen science and more. Have a summer of fun and exploration while making a difference! This position reports to the Lead Environmental Educator and Education Director and includes 365 hours for the summer ranging from 30-35 hours per week from June 1- August 14. This position can serve as an internship if you need college credit.
